Process to Develop Polypropylene Composites with Balanced Stiffness and Impact Strength
Thai university offers the technology involving a process to develop Polypropylene (PP) composites with the desired balance in stiffness and impact strength using a conventional mixing process. The composites comprise low-cost filler and metallocene produced elastomer. They can be prepared in a one-step mixing process. In the composite of comparable stiffness to PP, the notched Izod impact strength of 745 J/m (> 20 times that of PP) was achieved.
