Moly Non-Carbonising Fluid
UK based company, engaged in the manufacture of specialty industrial lubricants for the last 8 decades, offers the technology of Moly Non-Carbonizing Fluid which is a synthetic product specially designed for the lubrication of chains operating at high temperatures. Formulated from synthetic oil polyalkylene glycol fluid, it is blended to contain E.P. additives, anti-oxidation, anti-corrosion inhibitors and stably dispersed fine particle molybdenum disulphide. The Moly Non-Carbonizing Fluid resembles a mineral oil with a grayish cast and behaves in a manner similar to that of ordinary oils until temperatures in excess of 200°C (392°F), at which point it does not thin out or volatilize as quickly as mineral oils due to its excellent viscosity index and a special additive to prevent thin film oxidation. The product exhibits outstanding thermal stability so there is no "slugging', carbonizing or varnishing. This is coupled with excellent lubricity and anti-wear properties. It coats the chain upon application and penetrates between the links and pins to provide reduced wear and extended equipment lifetime. At elevated temperatures (above 200 deg C), the Polyalkylene glycol base of this fluid evaporates without carbonizing, leaving a .dry lubricant film of molybdenum disulphide, bonded to the frictional components. Continued exposure to these high temperatures leaves carbon sludge with the ordinary mineral oils on the other hand. It is available in liquid form, ready for use and does not require agitation or mixing and may be applied through spray, brush, chain bath or automatic centralized lubrication equipment. The typical physical characteristics of the product are: Appearance: Liquid with a grey cast; Viscosity @40 deg C: 133 Cts; Viscosity @100 deg C: 21 Cts; Viscosity index: 184; Temperature range: -25 deg C to + 450 deg C (Higher where the Moly is substituted for Graphite); Pour point: - 30 deg C; Flash point: 260 deg C; Specific gravity: 1.00
Sector: Ceramics & Glass
Country: India
Area of Application: Bakery chains, glass manufacturing machinery, high temperature stander chains, light bulb manufacturing machinery, paper mills, steel works, foundry plant and most applications where a non-carbonizing product is required. It is suitable for most chains operating at high temperatures (up to 450 deg C, higher in case if the Moly content is substituted for Graphite).
Keywords: moly, fluid, non-carbonising, lubricat, glass, ceramics
Advantages: Prevents carbon deposits, sludge formation and wear of chain pads and rails which is commonplace when conventional oils are employed; Reduces maintenance and lubrication costs and increases productivity by machine efficiency; Exceptionally thermally stable (extended lubricant life); High viscosity index (wide temperature range); Maximum lubrication with a minimum of fluid.
