Portable Infrared Thermograph for Visualisation and Measuring of Thermal Fields ( Russian Federation)
The portable thermograph IRTIS-200 is an infrared device for visualisation and measuring of thermal field. It finds wide applications in diagnosis of technological structures and in the medical diagnosis. IRTIS-200 is an innovative device that had been developed through a continuous research over a period of several years. Its main advantages compared with existing competitive devices include very light weight, very low power consumption, low cost, and excellent object visualisation characteristics. The devices has won several prizes at various international advanced technology exhibitions. The working principle of IRTIS-200 is based on reception scanning of thermal radiation of an object. The data are then converted into an electric signal that is applied to the analogue-digital converter. A specially designed computer programme processes the information and visualises the results on the computer monitor as high quality images. The IR-camera is designed as a mechanical scanner with a single-element IR-receiver. The camera has mirror-lense optics. Losses of the optical system are minimised and adjustment is simplified due to small number of retracting and reflecting surfaces. This also makes it possible to achieve high repeatability of the geometry of successive frames and uniform sensitivity over the entire frame field. The basic model of the camera is provided with an IR-receiver cooled with liquid Nitrogen. This ensures high sensitivity of the camera (less than 0.05 deg.C) even when the camera operates at low temperatures in the 3-5 microns range. It also allows to stabilise the parameters of the IR-receiver regardless the ambient temperature and make accurate measurements of absolute temperatures. The camera can also be equipped with an IR-receiver using thermoelectric cooler on request.
Sector: Other Technologies n.e.c.
Country: India
Area of Application: Non-destructive testing of technological objects: power stations, chemical/petrochemical plants, oil/gas processing and transportation structures, power transformers, high-voltage electric circuits and contacts, heat supply and refrigeration systems, construction industry, etc. Thermography is a very cheap diagnosis method that can be widely used for performance testing, maintenance, trouble-shooting and supervision of industrial machinery and equipment significantly reducing their down time. It can also be used during the process of development of new equipment. Medical diagnosis: non-invasive detection of various inflammation processes in the human body/animals. The application can be enhanced with Dynamic Infrared Thermal Imaging (DIT) that allows to monitor development of thermo-active processes in time thus increasing the diagnosis possibilities, especially in the early stages of diseases.
