Biodegradable Polymer
The biopolymer nanoparticle technology based on cost-effective biodegradable and biocompatible polyolefins and copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate and thermoplastic starch (TPS) blend nanocomposites wherein these nanocomposites of the present invention have improved mechanical, zero moisture content and biodegradable properties.
Sector: Plastics
Country: India
Area of Application: Packaging materials, disposable nonwovens, hygiene products, consumer goods, agricultural and horticultural tools and medical
Keywords: Biodegradable Polymer, Blend Nanocomposites, EVA, TPS, Starch, Packaging, Disposable nonwovens, Medical
Advantages: The thermoplastic starch or EVA blend nanocomposites is made of renewable materials (Starch) which leads to cyclic processes that can be renewed over short time intervals (less than 1 year) without perturbing the environment. Due to renewable feedstock, the said work has a reduction in the emission of fossil fuel–derived CO2 ( Greenhouse gases & VOCs) to combat global warming, land filling, and municipality solid waste (MSW) problems. It has low capital investment and higher ROI approx 40 %.
Environmental aspects: Cleaner Production , Waste utilization, Energy efficiency , Systems integration
Development Status: Laboratory Model
Legal Protection: Patent
Technical specifications: The blend nanocomposites of thermoplastic starch and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) is prepared by melt intercalation technique at various compositions and maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene is used
Transfer Terms: Technology Licensing
Target Countries: World Wide
Estimated cost (US$): 20000
