Brief description of the process / product / technology developed: Pax 3 is an important biomarker for NTD in Human beings diagnosed in our preliminary work. When this pax3 is down regulated NTD is predisposed in human beings. This invention relates to the Biomarker PAX3 for the detection of NTD in human mothers.The principal object of the present invention is to provide a detection kit for the prenatal screening of neural tube defect. o Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a detection kit based on the genetic analysis of Pax genes. o Still another object of the present invention is to provide a biomarker for developing the neural tube defect detection kit. o Another object of the present invention is to provide application of detection kit for the screening of neural tube defect in the first trimester of pregnancy. 6.
