A Novel method for Control of Mosquitoes
The present technology suggests a process for preparation of a mosquito oviposition attractant for laying of eggs by mosquitoes. The process for preparation of the composition comprises steps of – i) inoculating Sabouraud Dextrose Broth (SDB) with 2 to 8% of inoculums obtained by subculturing fungus Trichoderma Viride or T. Harzianum on Sabouraud Dacfrose Agar (SDA) ii) incubating Sabourraud Dextrose Broth (SDB) inoculated with the inoculum thus prepared, for a period of 5 to 18 days; iii) filtering the culture thus prepared using whatman No. 1 filter; iv) subjecting the filtrate to the step of lyophilization. The lyophilised culture filtrate so obtained is used for oviposition attractancy. The oviposition attractancy is useful for surveillance and control of mosquitoes.
