Simple Handheld Equipment for Sampling Soil
Drilling is the typical method of getting undisturbed soil samples. However the machinery used is difficult to mobilize in hilly areas and not cost effective for certain job. Therefore, a simple handheld equipment is necessary to get undisturbed soil samples. The sample size should be 200 mm diameter and 600 mm height. Samples are taken at depth ranging from 0.5 m to 10 m.
