We are working with a leading provider of consumer lifestyle and healthcare products that is actively searching for truly innovative technologies, products and devices to enable the consumer to maintain and improve their health through what they eat and drink. We are therefore interested in to find opportunities in the following areas:- Monitor…..the health of the consumer, the nutritional make-up of their foods, the progress they are making in changing their health - Devices to analyse raw ingredients and cooked meals to determine nutrients - Devices to allow automatic scan of body to determine health / body composition - Technology to test the body, or breath/saliva/ skin for what nutrients might be lacking - Technology to modify / enhance existing kitchen appliances allowing nutritional monitoring Advise…..the consumer on the nutritional value of their food, what they need to consume to be healthy, and how to achieve it - Applications for use with tablets/smartphones to give interactive recipes - Data to analyse recipes and cooking methods to determine nutritional values - Software to analyse results and give feedback on what they are consuming and how it compares to their Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) Optimise…..the nutritional value of the consumer’s food and drinks maximise - Kitchen appliances to preserve food and extract nutrients - Cooking devices to maximise the nutrients retained in the food - Food preparation devices able to give feedback on contents All products should have the following characteristics:- - Ease of use by consumer – become part of the daily routine - Allow customisation / personalisation by the user - Non-invasive - Give instant feedback and sufficient accuracy to give meaningful results - Platform technology allowing local market customisations Products should provide consumers with a real and perceived benefit . The use of an integral consumable element to accompany a device is of interest, but both parts must give real value to the consumer, not just enable increased sales. Devices which allow automatic monitoring of foods consumed are desired, as opposed to manual inputting. Opportunities should have some evidence of function, such as working prototypes, consumer trials, clinical / lab data, consumer reviews, etc. Whilst IP is a benefit, the company will consider products that have secret know-how or expertise / strong brand. The client company is a leader in innovative design and branding of products and is able to offer any potential partner the benefit of extensive marketing and cost-effective manufacturing. All this enables a speedy entrance to market through established marketing channels. We are willing to explore any reasonable commercial arrangements, including licensing in, strategic alliances, partnering arrangements or even outright acquisition.
