Description of technology
a) A photovoltaic solar module is a set of electrically connected solar cells. Quite often, single solar cells do not produce enough electrical power. Therefore many PV cells are combined in so called photovoltaic solar modules and wheatherproof mounted between glass plates. This assembly can be done either automatically or manually. The manufacturing process consists of several steps such as tabbing & stringing, layup & busing, lamination, assembly & performance test etc. It can be used for the on grid/off grid application of rural as well as urban applications. We (Central Electronics Limited) have already successfully transferred technology for manufacturing SPV modules for crystalline silicon based solar cells to Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL) India, Scientific Studies & Research Centre (SSRC) Syria and very recently in Sudan. We are in agreement with Mozambique and Mali to transfer the SPV module technology. b) Solar lantern provide higher quality light than the candles or kerosene lamps. The possible applications for the system are emergency light source, light source in remote unelectrified villages, light source for the field, Adult education centre and other mass communication programmes. CEL has already developed the LED based solar lantern technology that comprehensible the specifications as standardised by Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. The company in a position to transfer the technology for possible buyers. c) Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has developed a technology for the manufacturing of light weight solar foldable modules. This new architecture will be helpful for the easy transport of module as well as better deployment of the crystalline solar cell efficiency/power. The foldable modules can be utilized for the charging of the mobiles / batteries as well as suitable for the other different micro systems for rural applications. d) CEL has already developed the high efficiency solar charge controller that can protect battery life and regulate the load. CEL has already in position to transfer the technology e) A charge controller converts the variable direct current output of a PV solar panel into a utility frequency alternating current that can be fed into a commercial electrical grid or used by a local, off-grid electrical network.
