The International Conference on Fourth Industrial Revolution Technologies for Sustainable Development has been jointly organized by the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The International Conference: (1) Enhanced awareness on the policy tools and strategies to promote innovations and utilization of 4IR technologies for achieving sustainable development, focusing on key sectors/ topics such as healthcare, climate change, sustainable production and resilient recovery of industries; (2) Explored innovative strategies and best practices to advance 4IR technological innovations to address the critical developmental challenges in the post COVID-19 era; and (3) Provided policy recommendations to facilitate regional cooperation and cross-border transfer of 4IR technologies to support achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Over 140 participants from APCTT’s Governing Council member States and other member States of ESCAP, including policymakers and government officials, science, technology and innovation professionals, international experts, representatives from R&D institutions, academia, and other key stakeholders involved in various aspects of 4IR technologies participated in the International Conference.
