About APCTT: Fostering Regional Cooperation for Adoption, Diffusion and Transfer of Innovative and Emerging Technologies The Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) is a regional institution of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), servicing the Asia-Pacific region. APCTT actively promotes an enabling environment for the innovation, transfer, and commercialization of new and emerging technologies across the 53 member states and 9 associate members of UNESCAP. All member and associate member States of UNESCAP are automatically part of APCTT’s programs. Targeted Outcomes of APCTT The Centre is dedicated to achieving three primary outcomes crucial for the technological and developmental growth of its member States: 1) Fostering technology innovation and scaling up new and emerging technologies 2) Strengthen enabling policies in member States and link technology seekers, providers and financing with each other 3) Foster cross-border cooperation, capacity building and networking among various stakeholders for technology transfer. | What APCTT does The Centre runs two tracks of support on technology transfer: a) On-demand intervention track: The Centre provides on-demand technical support, policy advice and capacity building in areas identified by member States to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. b) Focused intervention track: The Centre also works on a focused track on technologies related to climate change. Technology areas prioritised by the Centre are i) Transition to renewables; ii) Pollution Control iii) Climate resilient infrastructure and iv) Digital and 4IR technologies. Main Stakeholders The key target stakeholders of APCTT are policy makers; technology design, promotion and transfer agencies; research and development institutions; technology entrepreneurs (especially youth and women), civil society organisations and others in Asia and the Pacific. APCTT, together with its member states, aims to foster technological innovations for a more sustainable future for the Asia Pacific region. |
